Staunton, VA - The duo of
DJ Jackson and
Jeremiah Howard led Greensboro College Men's Basketball (6-10, 2-3) to a conference road win at Mary Baldwin (7-8, 2-4) 79-65 on Wednesday night. Jackson led the Pride with 24 points while Howard had a 19-point, 14-rebound double-double.
The first half saw Greensboro lead most of the way. They led by as many as 12 points with 6:28 to play in the half. However, the Fighting Squirrels mounted a 14-5 run to cut the score to 38-35 at halftime.Â
The Pride came out and took momentum to begin the second half, as they stretched their lead to 51-39 just over 5 minutes into the half. They never let Mary Baldwin get within less than 6 points the remainder of the game, as Greensboro would pull away late and secure a big conference road win. The Pride outscored the Fighting Squirrels 41-30 in the second half.
In addition to Jackson and Howard's performances,
Will Gray scored 12 points with 6 rebounds. As a team, Greensboro shot 41% from the floor for the game and went 25-32 from the free-throw line.Â

- Howard's 19 points and 14 rebounds are new single-game career-highs.
- This is Jackson's 6th game of scoring at least 20 points this season.
- Howard's double-double is the 5th double-double turned in by a Greensboro player this year.
- Greensboro has now won its last 3 matchups against Mary Baldwin and 7 of their last 10.
