Comeback Falls Short as Men's Basketball Taken Down by SVU

Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Men's Basketball (5-9, 1-2) hosted Southern Virginia (8-7, 4-1) on Wednesday night and fell 90-87.

The first half saw the Knights take control and maintain a double-digit lead for the majority of the half. Greensboro cut the deficit to 8 points with 7:09 to play, but the Knights went on a late run and would take a 40-25 advantage into the halftime break.

It was a different second half for Greensboro, as they scored 62 points. Their 62 points is the highest scoring half they have had all season, surpassing a 60-point second half against Oglethorpe on 11/25.

Greensboro found themselves down by 10 with 3:04 to play, but mounted a strong comeback in the final minutes. Dwight Vincent would hit a three-pointer in the final seconds, but time ran out on the Pride as they fell by just 3 points.
