Greensboro, NC - Greensboro Men's Soccer (4-3-3) hosted Brevard (2-3-3) in their first conference match of the season and fell 1-0.
It was an exciting match all night long, as both squads took turns challenging each other's defense. The first half saw Greensboro get good looks on the offensive end but they couldn't find the back of the net and the teams went into the halftime break tied 0-0.
The Tornados came out firing in half number two, and in the 55th minute, Julian Martin scored off a rebound off the post from a shot by teammate German Garcia that would prove to be the game-winner.
The Pride did get a couple opportunities to even the score late, but Brevard would thwart those efforts and earn their first conference win of the season.
For Greensboro,
Alvaro Hermosa had 4 saves in goal, while the team totaled 7 shots on the night.
Greensboro will go on the road for a non-conference match on Saturday when they play Warren Wilson at 5:00 pm.
