Men’s Soccer Cruises in Final Non-Conference Match

Asheville, NC - Gustav Ohman broke a 1-1 tie minutes before halftime and the Greensboro College Men's Soccer team (5-3-3) defeated Warren Wilson (1-7-1) 4-1 on Saturday night.

Greensboro got the scoring started on Axel Garcia-Avila's second goal of the season, thanks to an assist from freshman Alias Goldsberry. But the Owls battled back to tie the game at one apiece at 41:51 in the first half. Less than 30 seconds later, Ohman would break the tie and Greensboro would get a lead they would not surrender again.

After the break, the Pride freshmen continued to stand out. First it was Ohman again with his sixth goal of the year, and then Ori Edry would finish the scoring in the 72nd minute, his second of 2025. Both Kalle Hermansson and Edry also notched assists in the win.

Jacopo Canzian made his first start for the Pride, saving three out of four shots, and the Pride out-shot Warren Wilson 13-9 (8 to 4 in shots on goal).

The Pride continue their road trip with conference matches at Mary Baldwin and Pfeiffer next week, before returning home to host Southern Virginia on October 15th.
