Football Falls to Davidson Saturday Night

Davidson, NC - Greensboro College Football (1-2) took on FCS opponent Davidson College (1-3) on Saturday and fell 48-0. It was the first meeting between the two teams since 2005, when Davidson took down the Pride 32-7.

Davidson got the scoring started early on just their second play from scrimmage, as Alani Ajigbotosho caught a 53 yard touchdown pass to go up 7-0. At the end of the first quarter, the Wildcats went ahead 14-0 after a 16 play drive resulted in a touchdown.

Turnovers were key for Greensboro, as Greensboro threw two interceptions deep in Davidson territory in the first half. For the game, the Pride had 6 turnovers, which ties their season high.

Davidson scored 28 points in the second quarter to extend their lead to 42-0 by halftime. Despite the rough second quarter, Greensboro's defense gave up just 6 points in the second half. The offense also started to find their rhythm, especially in the passing game.

Chase Altis would finish the game with 208 passing yards while KJ Brown had 6 catches for 103 yards. Freshman Mitrend Curry had 5 receptions, while Ja'Vian Carr and Dwayne Smith Jr. each had 4.
