Raleigh, NC - The Greensboro College Volleyball team (5-0, 1-0) defeated William Peace (3-6, 0-1) on Wednesday in their first USA South Conference match of the season.
The Pacers started strong by taking the first set, 25-22. After the first set, Greensboro turned the heat up on the Pacers and took command of the rest of the match.
Set two went to the Pride 25-16, while set three went Greensboro's way 25-14. The fourth set was also handled easily by the Pride, 25-17.
Payton Shiflet led Greensboro with 17 kills on the night, followed by
Kelci Brooks and
Skylar Rokov with 9 each.
Jaylyn Templeton,
Morgan Mayfield, and Shiflet all had 3 aces.
Karla del Castillo and Rokov dominated at the net, earning 4 blocks each.
Templeton totaled 40 assists on the night while
Morgan Mayfield had a season-high 44 digs.
Greensboro travels to Bridgewater College for two matches on Saturday. They take on Lynchburg at 2:00 pm followed by a 4:00 pm match against Bridgewater.
