Bridgewater, VA - Greensboro College Volleyball (5-2) traveled to Bridgewater College on Saturday to play Lynchburg (10-1) and Bridgewater (7-3). The Pride fell in 5 sets to Lynchburg and 3-0 to Bridgewater.
Greensboro vs Lynchburg
The Pride got down by 2 sets early in the match, but fought all the way back to tie the hornets and force a 5th set. Lynchburg took the first set 25-19 and then took the next set by the same score.
Greensboro then came back to take the 3rd set 25-15 and then the 4th set by a score of 25-20. The teams went back-and-forth in the decisive 5th set, but the Hornets came out on top, 15-13.
Payton Shiflet led the Pride with 23 kills while
Morgan Mayfield had 25 digs.
Jaylyn Templeton had 42 assists and
Taylor Cotie had 4 blocks.
Greensboro vs Bridgewater
After a long 5 set match against Lynchburg, the Pride turned around to play Bridgewater College and fell in 3 sets. The Eagles took the 1st set 25-21, followed by a 25-14 win and then a 3rd set victory of 25-15.
Kelcic Brooks and
Skylar Rokov had 6 kills each while Rokov had 4 blocks.
Greensboro comes back to Hanes Gym on Wednesday when they host conference rival Methodist at 7:00 pm.
