Fayetteville, NC - Greensboro baseball played in game one of a three game series against Methodist on Saturday and fell 12-8.

The Pride scored first in the first inning, scoring twice to take a 2-0 lead. The Monarchs scored four in the bottom half of the frame to take a 4-2 advantage.

Three more runs scored for Greensboro in the second and one in the third as the Pride led 6-4. With the game tied 6-6, Methodist scored five runs off the Greensboro bullpen in the seventh inning to take an 11-6 lead. 

Despite scoring three times in the ninth, it wouldn't be enough as the Monarchs took game one of the series. Isaiah Faudoa got the start on the mound for Greensboro and went six innings, giving up six runs on ten hits with one strikeout. 

At the plate, the Pride totaled nine hits, two of those coming from Louis Berini. Berini hit his first home run of the 2025 season and totaled three RBI. Brody Gardner and Scotty Diekman each had a double, while the Pride defense struggled by committing four errors.

Greensboro plays games two and three of the series on Sunday beginning at 1:00 pm.
