Justin Barry and
Alex Mattoon combined for nine goals in Greensboro men's lacrosse's road win at Brevard on Saturday.
It was all Greensboro from the start, as they took a 5-1 lead after the first quarter. Mattoon and Barry scored the first three goals while
Leo Ringelberg and Mattoon scored the next two goals in the first period.
Alex Speckin opened the second quarter with a goal followed later by a goal from
Connor Ferreria. Barry and Mattoon then scored the next two goals to give the Pride a 9-2 lead at halftime.
It was the Mattoon and Barry duo again scoring to open the second half to give Greensboro an 11-2 advantage.
Guy Galardi then scored his first career goal to go ahead 12-2. Ringelberg,
Payne Swenson, Barry,
DiMaggio Wilson scored the final three goals to finish off a win in Greensboro's conference opener.
To go along with his five goals, Barry also had four assists.
Quinton Solomon had twelve ground balls and won sixteen of nineteen faceoffs.
Colin Byrne had four caused turnovers on the afternoon while
Corrie Miller had three. Miller also had five ground balls.Â
In goal, Nathan Fox got the win. he had four saves on the day.
Hayden Hansen had three saves in the second half.
Greensboro will travel to play Methodist on March 22nd for their next contest.
