Virginia Beach, VA - Greensboro men's lacrosse took on Russell Sage on Wednesday and fell 16-5.
Russell Sage got off to a strong start with seven first quarter goals. Greensboro scored one goal in the quarter thanks to
Chas Gilroy's shot that made the score 2-1.Â
Sage scored four goals in the second period to extend their comfortable lead. The Pride got a goal in the period from
Alex Speckin on an assist by Connor Fererria. Fererria then scored the opening goal of the third quarter on an assist by
Justin Barry.
Greensboro also got a goal in the third quarter by
Alex Mattoon. Barry would score the final Pride goal in the fourth quarter.
Quinton Solomon led the team in ground balls with six, as he won thirteen face offs.
Michael Lesser had three ground balls. Four different Pride players had a caused turnover for the game.Â
Nathan Fox started in goal for Greensboro and had six saves.
Hayden Hansen played the second half and had five saves.
Greensboro plays again on March 15th when they travel to Brevard.
