Greensboro, NC - Isaiah Pruett (men's basketball) and Louis Berini (baseball) were named in this week's USA South weekly awards. Pruett took home Player of the Week for men's hoops while Berini took home the same distinguishment for baseball.

In an incredible postseason push, Greensboro's men's basketball team knocked off both Brevard and Methodist (teams that had beaten the Pride by a combined 52 points earlier in the season) in stunning fashion to snag the sixth and final spot in the USA South men's basketball tournament, and Pruett was front and center in both games.

The senior delivered 32 points and 10 assists in an 81-63 win over Brevard, only to follow it with 34 points, 5 boards, and 3 assists in a winner-take-all season finale against Methodist, a 70-61 Pride win. It is the latest nod in what has been a decorated final season for the Greensboro guard, who will see his season extended at least one more game when the Pride take on Southern Virginia Tuesday night in the semifinal round.

Greensboro baseball has jumped out to a 5-2 start in 2025 and their second baseman has been a key reason why. Batting second in the order, Berini went 10-for-17 against Averett over the weekend, also tallying 4 runs and 4 RBI. In game one of a Saturday doubleheader, he went 4-for-5, before following it with a 3-for-6 performance with 3 RBI in an extra inning loss in game two. All told last week, Berini went 13-for-21 with 5 runs, 5 RBI, 3 doubles and a stolen base.

Berini is batting .485 in seven games this year, good for second on the team, and his 3 stolen bases are tied with Brody Gardner for second best on the squad. Much in part to Berini's hot start, Greensboro leads the USA South in team batting average (.385), runs (75), hits (100), doubles (21), RBI (72) and are a perfect 17-for-17 in stolen base attempts. After beginning the season with seven consecutive home contests, the Pride hit the road for the first time this year, traveling to Roanoke (their third straight ODAC opponent) for a 4:00 pm tilt on Wednesday.
