Asheboro, NC - Greensboro baseball won their second series of the season on Sunday by defeating Averett 11-4. The Pride scored a total of 32 runs in the three game series.
On the mound for the Pride was
Isaiah Faudoa. Faudoa pitched 8.0 innings on the afternoon while giving up four runs and striking out one. Faudoa is now 2-0 to start the new season.
Greensboro's offense totaled 17 hits on the game.
Louis Berini and
Brody Gardner had 3 hits each. Berini went 3-6 with 1 RBI. Both Gardner and Berini had a double each.
Evan Sykes continued his hot start to the season, going 2-4 with a home run, 2 RBI, and 4 runs scored. Catcher
Michael Schroer knocked in a career high 4 RBI on two hits, including his first home run of the year.
Seven Pride hitters had at least two hits on the afternoon. They also had six walks and struck out just four times. Greensboro's defense shined as well, turning three double plays.
Greensboro will travel to Roanoke College on February 26th for a midweek game with the Maroons. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
