Men's Basketball Scores Big Win Over Brevard as Pruett Goes for 32

Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro men's basketball team kept their postseason hopes alive on Tuesday night as they defeated Brevard 81-63 behind Isaiah Pruett's 32 point night.

Greensboro stayed hot from long range all night long, hitting a season-high 13 three-point shots. Their 13 three's were the most in a single game for Greensboro since the 2021-2022 season.

The Pride scored 42 first half points. The senior combo of Pruett and Grant Thompson, along with Patrick Malott and DJ Jackson led the Pride to a 10 point halftime advantage. In the second half, Brevard's offense began to find some rhythm as they got to within 6 points with just over 6:00 left.

Greensboro took back control quickly, regaining an 11 point lead and quieting any momentum the Tornados had. They closed the game out on a 9-0 run to secure an important conference win to keep their USA South tournament hopes alive.

With the win, Greensboro jumps ahead of Methodist to the #6 seed in the conference standings with one game remaining. That last game will be against Methodist at home on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs have one game remaining before their matchup with the Pride against William Peace.

To go along with his 32 points, Pruett had 10 assists, completing the double-double. Grant Thompson had 17 points, while DJ Jackson had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Patrick Malott had a big game all the way around, scoring 8 points with 4 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds.

Greensboro hosts Methodist on Saturday at 2:00 pm inside Hanes Gym to potentially determine the last spot in the USA South tournament.
