Rocky Mount, NC - Greensboro Men's Basketball (2-6) played against Newport News Apprentice School and Mid-Atlantic Christian School at the Roger Taylor Invitational over the weekend.
Greensboro vs Apprentice
The Pride fell to Newport News Apprentice on Friday night 84-77. Greensboro led 35-21 at the half, but Apprentice would storm out in the second half for 63 points and win the game. They shot 20-27 from the floor and 6-10 from long range in the second half.Â

DJ Jackson scored 22 points with 6 rebounds.
Will Gray had 16 points with 3 steals, while
Jeremiah Howard had 12 points.   Â
Greensboro vs Mid-Atlantic Christian
It was another close battle on Saturday, but the Pride would also fall to Mid-Atlantic Christian 85-82. Late in the second half, Greensboro found themselves down by one. With a chance to take the lead, Greensboro missed a jumper with 16 seconds left, but again had a chance to tie in the final seconds.
Unfortunately, a
Jalen Thorns three-pointer fell short with five seconds left and Mid-Atlantic Christian would hang on for the win.
Dwight Vincent scored a career high 28 points in this one, going 9-11 from the floor and 6-6 from long range. Thorns scored 14 points while Jackson had 11 points with 7 rebounds.
Greensboro will play again next Tuesday when they take on Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA.Â
