Lynchburg, VA - Greensboro College Men's Basketball (3-6) took on Randolph College (3-7) in the first game of the Wayne Profit Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Greensboro took home the win 64-55 led by a 17-point performance by freshman
Dwight Vincent.
It was a relatively low scoring contest throughout, as Greensboro held a slim 27-25 advantage at the half. Greensboro shot 32% from the floor in the half while the Wildcats shot 26%.Â
Greensboro shot the ball better in half number two, going 10-23 from the field and 4-10 from long range. The Pride hit 8 three-pointers on the day. Free throws were another key to victory, as Greensboro shot 16-20 from the charity stripe.
Freshman
Dwight Vincent scored 17 points to lead all scorers, shooting 6-13 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the arc.
Griffin Powell (13 points),
Will Gray (12 points), and
Ryan Roberts (10 points) all scored in double figures.Â
Greensboro will play their second and final game of the Wayne Profit Classic on Wednesday afternoon against Lynchburg at 1:00 pm.
