High Scoring Battle Sees Women's Basketball Fall to William Peace

Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Women's Basketball (2-5, 0-2) played their second USA South Conference game of the season on Thursday and fell to William Peace (4-3, 1-0) 88-75.

It was a game of runs for both teams. The Pacers got out to an early 11-1 lead in the first quarter, but Greensboro would cut the score to 17-13 late in the period. Early in the second, Greensboro tied the game 22-22 before the Pacers went on an 11-2 run to pull away again.

Late in the period, Greensboro cut the deficit to just 2 points again before the Pacers extended the lead to 45-38 at the half. William Peace held a double-digit lead for most of the third quarter, but the Pride came out strong in the fourth and took a 68-66 lead with just under 7:00 to play.

However. the Pacers finished the game on a 22-7 run to get the win. William Peace went 11-12 from the free throw line in the final period to help pull away. 

For Greensboro, Tatum Bradford scored a team high 15 points on 6-11 shooting and 2-6 from long range. Ary Ingram scored 12 points with 8 rebounds, while Briana Ruano scored 14 points with 3 steals. Carrie Carr had a strong rebounding game with 11 boards.

The Pride will play again December 16th when they travel to Brevard for another USA South Conference game, with tip-off set for 4:00 pm.
