Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Men's Basketball (2-4) hosted Guilford College (4-2) at the First Horizon Coliseum on Monday and fell 122-88.
The Pride struggled on the offensive end early on as the Quakers defense forced multiple turnovers. They would jump out to a 20-9 lead just five minutes into the first half.Â
The struggles would continue throughout the half as Greensboro wouldn't be able to get in a rhythm. On the night, the Pride offense had 33 turnovers.Â
Guilford excelled from behind the arc, going 15-37 from long range. They also shot 43 free throws, making 35 of them. Greensboro would finish the night shooting 46% from the floor, but shot just 2-8 from long range.
Freshman
Mike Downing scored a career high 16 points with 5 rebounds.
DJ Jackson also scored 16 points, while
Dwight Vincent had 9.
Jalen Thorns scored 9 points and had 7 rebounds.
Greensboro will play again when they travel to Rocky Mount, NC for the Roger Taylor Invitational on Friday when they take on Newport News Apprentice School at 6:00 pm.
