Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Ingram Scores 48 in Collegiate Debut, Pride Win 104-96

Atlanta, GA - It was Q Ingram's night to shine on Tuesday, as the freshman making his collegiate debut scored the most points in a single game for the Greensboro College Men's Basketball program since 2000 with 48 points in a 104-96 win over Oglethorpe.

Ingram went 15-26 from the floor and 16-20 from the free throw line in a dominant performance in his first ever game in a Greensboro College uniform. The previous single game points record since 2000 was held by Marcellus Morgan, who scored 46 points in a 2003 game against Ferrum College. Ingram said of his performance, "I've been hurt for over a month but I never stopped working. I finally got cleared a week ago. I prayed and I stayed ready for my opportunity and this is all God. He deserves all the Praise and Glory."

Greensboro led for most of the night, outside of Oglethorpe taking a slim lead with 7:32 remaining in the first half. They later took a one point lead with less than 4:00 to play in the half, but Greensboro retook the lead before the half ended.

The teams went back-and-forth in the beginning of the second half, as they were deadlocked at 50-50 with 15:42 to play. With 11:25 to play, the score was tied again 61-61, and the Pride would slowly grow a lead they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way.

The lead grew to as many as 13 points with 4:58 to play, and while Oglethorpe did cut the lead to just 4 with under 3:00 to play, Greensboro held on and pulled away again with late free throws.

In addition to his 48 points, Ingram also had 9 rebounds. DJ Jackson had a solid 18 point night with 5 assists, while Griffin Powell went 3-3 from long range and scored 11 points.

Greensboro will play again when they take on Guilford on December 1st at the First Horizon Coliseum, with tip-off set for 7:30 pm.
