Danville. VA - Greensboro College Men's Basketball (1-2) fell to Averett (2-1) 82-73 on Friday night in a road contest. Nygie Stroman led the team with 18 points.

The teams went back-and-forth in the first half, trading the lead throughout. With one second left in the half a DJ Jackson free throw put Greensboro ahead 37-36.

The Pride started strong in the second half, growing their lead to as much as 11 points by the 14:32 mark. However, the Cougars would quickly begin to cut into the deficit, as they got to within two with 9:43 to play.

The teams traded buckets for the next three minutes, but Averett would go on another big run late in the second half to pull away and earn the win. 

For Greensboro, Jackson would finish with 13 points and 3 assists while Stroman finished with 10 rebounds to go with his 18 points. Ryan Roberts and Will Gray also finished in double figures in points. 

The Pride come back home on Sunday to host Warren Wilson for a 4:00 pm tip-off.
