Greensboro, NC - It was a big afternoon for Greensboro College Women's Soccer (10-6-2, 5-4) as they defeated Salem College (5-7-3, 2-5-2) 4-0 on Wednesday to secure the #3 seed in the conference tournament and will host #6 seed NC Wesleyan on Saturday.
The scoring started early for the Pride, as
Trinity Robinson scored on an assist from
Alex Dawson for her second goal of the season in the 7th minute to go ahead 1-0.Â
Just 10 minutes later,
Camryn Marcondes scored in her second straight match off an assist from
Kendall Kamm, and Greensboro took a 2-0 lead. Early in the second half,
Shae Brennan ripped one into the back of the net for her third goal of the year, and Greensboro took a healthy 3-0 advantage.
The final goal came from
Abby Lush, as she came in off the bench and scored off an assist from Robinson to cap off the dominant performance. Greensboro totaled 23 shots with 12 on goal, while the Spirits had just 5 shots. Goalie
Shyann Hansen had 3 saves and a shutout for her 9th win of her freshman campaign.

Mike Johnston said of the performance, "It was great to see four quality goals and assists to close out the regular season. Any time you can put yourself in a position to host a conference tournament game is super special, and I'm proud of this group for being a resilient bunch."
Greensboro will host the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament for the third year in a row, and they will host NC Wesleyan for the second straight season. Start time for the match is TBD.Â
