Staunton, VA - The streak continues for Greensboro College Volleyball (21-2, 14-0) as they defeated Mary Baldwin (6-17, 0-12) on Friday night 3-0 to extend their win streak to 16 games.
Th first set was tight as the Pride came out on top 25-22. Greensboro opened the set on a 10-2 run, but the Fighting Squirrels came back to get within two points at 23-21. The Pride finished off the set though, and took a 1-0 lead.
Greensboro won the next set 25-21 to take a commanding 2-0 match lead. They then dominated the final set 25-13 to close out the match.Â
Kelci Brooks had a 16 kill match, just one off her season high of 17.
Karla del Castillo and
Skylar Rokov each had 7 kills.
Jaylyn Templeton had 35 assists and 3 service aces. del Castillo had 3 blocks while
Morgan Mayfield had 18 digs.
Greensboro will take on Salem College on Tuesday in a key USA South Conference match. The Pride hold a three game lead on the Spirits for the #1 seed in the conference.
