Record Breaking Day Sees Volleyball Sweep Pfeiffer, Randolph College

Greensboro, NC - It was a record breaking afternoon for Greensboro College Volleyball (19-2, 12-0) as they extended their win streak to 14 games. Their 14 game win streak is now the longest in program history, surpassing the 2005 team who had a 13 game winning streak. They also continued their undefeated record in the USA South.

Greensboro vs Pfeiffer

The Pride took down Pfeiffer 3-0 in game one of the afternoon. The Falcons put up a strong fight in the first set, but Greensboro came from behind to earn the set win. Greensboro scored the final 2 points of the set to squeak out a 25-23 victory.

From there, the Pride took control and cruised to wins in the second and third sets. They took set two 25-16 and the final set 25-14. Payton Shiflet led the team in kills with 17 while Taylor Cotie had 9. Jaylyn Templeton had 35 assists, while Morgan Mayfield had 14 digs. Grace Young also had a solid game defensively with 12 digs. 

Greensboro vs Randolph College

It was all Greensboro in the second game of the day, as the Pride swept Randolph College 3-0. Set one went Greensboro's way 25-17, then they would win the second set 25-20. The final set also went to the Pride, 25-19.

Shiflet would lead the team again in kills with 17 while Kelci Brooks had 8. Jaylyn Templeton had 21 assists while sophomore setter Larkin Baxley had 20. Morgan Mayfield compiled 18 digs and 2 service aces while Grace Young also had 2 aces. Freshman Enjoli Allen came through with 7 kills and 2 blocks.

Greensboro will play again when they host Brevard next Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
