Greensboro, NC - It was a warm Saturday afternoon at Pride Field as Greensboro College Women's Soccer (8-6-2, 3-4-0) hosted Meredith College (3-9-3, 3-3-1). The Pride fell 1-0 in a tight contest that saw the Avenging Angels score early and hang on for a key conference win.

The teams came into the day with Greensboro 1/2 game ahead of Meredith in the conference standings. Meredith would score in the 29th minute to go ahead 1-0 and were able to hang on to that lead the rest of the way.

The Pride were able to get 9 shots with 5 on goal, but couldn't find the back of the net to tie the game. The Meredith keepers combined for 5 saves on the afternoon.

Shyann Hansen got the start in goal for Greensboro and had 3 saves. Camryn Marcondes led the Pride in shots taken with 3, 2 of which were on goal.

Greensboro has two games remaining in the regular season, and their next contest will be next Saturday when they host NC Wesleyan for homecoming and senior day, Game time is 11:30 am.
