Greensboro, NC - Pride women's basketball was back inside Hanes Gym on Tuesday night as they hosted NC Wesleyan in a USA South Conference battle. The Bishops would come out on top 77-38 thanks to a strong second half and a 16 point effort from Corynthian Williams.
The first half was an entertaining one as both teams looked strong early. NC Wesleyan would lead 19-10 after the first quarter, and Greensboro cut the lead to four points with 5:33 left in the second period. The Pride stayed with the Bishops throughout the first half, with NC Wesleyan pulling out to a 36-24 advantage at the half.
The Bishops extended their lead after the third quarter, leading 50-33, and then really took off in the fourth to take home the win. The Pride were outscored 27-5 in the final period. With the win, NC Wesleyan now sits at 3-2 in conference play, while the loss puts Greensboro at 1-4.

Nataya Atwater led the way with 15 points and 2 steals.
Nakiyah Kelly set a new career high with 14 rebounds, while
Taya Simpkins scored 7 points and collected 8 rebounds.
Up next for the Pride is a USA South matchup with Salem College inside Hanes Gym on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 4:30 pm.
