Ferrum, VA - Greensboro women's basketball took on Ferrum College on Wednesday night and fell 70-53.
Meah Brooks led the Pride with 12 points while totaling 2 rebounds.
Greensboro played tough in the first quarter, scoring 15 points and only being down by 4 after the first period.

Taya Simpkins and
Meah Brooks.Â
The second quarter was the difference in this one, as the Panthers outscored the Pride 15-3. Greensboro shot just 1-11 in the period. Ferrum took a 34-18 lead into the halftime break after hitting 3 three-pointers in the quarter.
The Pride offense came back to life in the final two periods, scoring 35 points in the second half. Greensboro got a lift from senior
Jasmine Mitchell, who scored 10 points on the night.
Taya Simpkins came up big on the boards, coming down with a career high 13 rebounds. The Pride would outscore the Panthers in the fourth quarter 19-14, but the Panthers did enough to stay ahead and secure the victory.
Greensboro won the turnover battle 16-14 and scored 12 points off turnovers. They also got 24 points from their bench.
The Pride get back into USA South Conference play on Saturday, January 18th when they host Meredith. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm.
