Greensboro, NC - In an entertaining back-and-forth battle, Greensboro men's soccer came out on top 3-2 over Ferrum on Wednesday afternoon for their first win of the season.
It was a late goal by
Jalen King that sealed the win for the Pride, as he scored off an assist by
Brady Mowers to break a 2-2 tie.Â
Greensboro got out to a 1-0 lead early when
Axel Garcia-Avila scored his first goal on the season in the 5th minute. After Ferrum tied the game,
Brady Mowers snuck one by the goalie off an assist by
Jalen King to take a 2-1 advantage. The Panthers later tied the game 2-2, and then King scored the game winner in the 86th minute.
Greensboro totaled 12 shots on the afternoon, and goalie
Cristian Del Cid came through with 4 saves.
The Pride will play again when they take on cross-town rival Guilford on the road Friday night. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
