Danville, VA - Greensboro men's soccer traveled to take on Averett University on Wednesday and fell 2-1 to the Cougars.
Averett got on the board in the 20th minute on a goal by Daniel Lilley to go up 1-0. Four minutes later, Averett scored again to go ahead 2-0, and that would be the score going into halftime.Â
Greensboro fought back in the second half, getting a goal by
Justin Murillo-Escoto off an assist by
Axel Garcia-Avila to get back to within a goal. The Pride had 7 shots in the second half, but couldn't score the equalizer as Averett held on to win the match 2-1.

Giovanny Jacon got the start in goal for Greensboro and had 8 saves in his collegiate debut.Â
The Pride will host Piedmont University in their next contest on Friday, with the match set for 3:00 pm.
