St. Mary's City, MD - In their second game of the Seahawk Classic in Maryland, Greensboro women's soccer lost a close battle with Salisbury University 2-1.

The Sea Gulls scored the first goal of the game just 1:43 into the game to go up 1-0. Later in the half, Salisbury took a 2-0 lead and would keep that advantage going into the half.

The Pride would fight back, scoring in the 58th minute when freshman Emily Walsh put one in the back of the net for the first goal of her career. 

Greensboro had a chance to tie the game in the final minutes, but Salisbury goalie Hayle Foreman made a save on a shot by Walsh to keep the Sea Gulls' lead and secure the win.

Freshman goalie Carlisle Dozier came into the game to begin the second half for Greensboro and had 6 saves in the first appearance of her career. 

The Pride will play their home opener against Ferrum on September 4th on Pride Field. Kick-off is set for 5:30 pm.
