Atlanta, GA - Greensboro volleyball opened up the 2024 season in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday night in the Emory Invitational against #9 Emory University and fell 3-0.
The Eagles took the first set 25-12 and then came from behind to take the second set 25-21. Greensboro got out to an early lead in set number two, but Emory's Madison Cali and Jessica Majka helped the Eagles come back to win the set.
Emory would win the third set 25-12 to finish off the match. For Greensboro,
Taylor Cotie led the team in kills with 6.
Krista Brantley and
Payton Wright each had 5 kills. Cotie also had 3 blocks on the contest.
Reigning USA South Rookie of the Year
Morgan Mayfield had 19 digs, while
Jaylyn Templeton and
Grace Klingensmith each had 8 assists.
The Pride will play two matches on Saturday in Atlanta, as they take on Piedmont at 10:30 am and Huntingdon College at 2:30 pm. Both games can be seen live at greensborocollegesports.com.
