Misenheimer, NC - Greensboro Baseball (16-11, 5-5) fell in the series opener to Pfeiffer University (10-13, 3-7) 17-3 on Friday afternoon.
The Pride struggled from the start as the Falcons got out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. With two outs in the bottom of the first, Pfeiffer rallied to score six runs on five hits. Greensboro got two runs back on a
Kai Hayen two-run homer to left field in the second inning to make it 6-2.
The Pride cut the score to 6-3 in the fourth inning on a two-out RBI by
Mo Lopez. After this, however, Pfeiffer would go on to score eleven runs to finish out the ballgame in seven innings.
Hunter Anderson got the start for the Pride and pitched 3.2 innings. He gave up ten runs, but just three of those were earned. Jake Bevins went the complete game for Pfeiffer while giving up three runs on seven hits.
