Buena Vista, VA - The Greensboro Softball team (20-10, 9-3) came away with a sweep of Southern Virginia (12-18, 8-6) on Tuesday afternoon. Game one saw the Pride win 11-2, while game two went to Greensboro by the score of 8-3.
Game One:
The Pride put up 11 runs in the game one victory. Down 1-0 in the top of the 4th inning, Greensboro scored 6 runs to take a 6-1 lead. They scored 1 run in the 5th inning, and then scored 4 more runs in the 6th inning.Â
Seven Pride hitters had at least two hits.
Jillian Vitamanti had a 3 hit game with 1 RBI.

M'Kenzie Davis all had 2 hits each. Sox would have 2 doubles and 3 RBI, while Ray had 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. The team totaled 16 hits.
Lauren Engel earned her 13th win of the season in the circle. She went all 6 innings and gave up 2 runs and struck out 4.
Game Two:
The offense scored 8 more runs in game two to back starter
Katherine Charlton. Charlton went 4.0 innings and gave up 3 runs.
Raina Hampel came in out of the bullpen and pitched 3.0 hitless innings.
Anna Frazier and
Raven Taylor had 2 hits and 2 RBI each. The biggest hit came from freshman
Katherine Connell. Connell hit her first career home run, which was a grand slam, in the 2nd inning.Â
Alexis Sox had a double and an RBI, while
Paydon Reynolds came through with 2 RBI.
Greensboro will travel to conference rival Pfeiffer on Saturday, April 20th for a double header that begins at 1:00 pm.
