Buena Vista, VA - Greensboro Men's Lacrosse (5-5. 1-2) traveled to Southern Virginia (3-8, 2-1) on Tuesday night and were defeated 16-5.
SVU would score the first eight goals of the game, with five of those coming in the first period. After being down 8-0, the Pride scored two straight goals.
Jameson Doll scored the first goal and then
Christopher Zeiher scored the second goal early in the third quarter.
The Knights scored three more goals after Zeiher's goal to extend the lead to 11-2. For SVU, Clay Haake led the team with six of the team's eleven goals.
Justin Barry scored the third Pride goal, while
Nate Bladen and
Leo Ringelberg scored the final two goals for Greensboro. Defensively,
Jack Sheridan and
Ryan Buchanan had solid performances as both had two caused turnovers. Sheridan had six ground balls while Buchanan had five.
In goal,
Edward Rowley had nine saves while
Hayden Hansen came up with four saves.
Greensboro will play again when they host Piedmont University on Saturday, March 30th at 12:00 pm.
