Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Men's Lacrosse team (3-3) scored 19 goals in a win over Randolph College (2-5) on Saturday, falling one goal shy of their season high of 20 goals against Montreat College in the season opener.
The Pride started out hot with 7 goals in the first quarter.
William Beyer scored 4 of those goals, as he dominated Randolph all game long. Beyer scored 5 goals on the afternoon along with having 5 assists. Greensboro scored 4 more goals in the second period to take a 11-4 lead into halftime.
The Pride got contributions from many players in this one, as eight different players scored at least one goal. The second half was much of the same as Greensboro once again dominated and would cruise to victory. They scored 3 goals in the third period and another 5 goals in the final quarter.
Justin Barry scored 4 goals for the Pride, as did
Nate Bladen.
Jameson Doll had 2 goals and
Nathan Dupke,
Samuel Kellam,
Chas Gilroy, and
Leo Ringelberg all scored 1 goal each. Doll also had 5 assists.
Jack Sheridan had 3 caused turnovers and Doll had 2 of his own. Eddie Rowlley got the win in goal and had 9 saves. Greensboro took 60 shots on the contest and had 38 ground balls as a team.
The Pride will host Edgewood College on Tuesday night on Pride Field, with the game beginning at 7:00 PM.
