Hooker's 18 Points Lead Greensboro to Road Win at William Peace

Raleigh, NC - It was a big weekend in Raleigh for the Greensboro Women's Basketball team (6-15, 6-8) as they defeated William Peace (6-14, 4-10) on Saturday. 69-61. They defeated Meredith on Friday night, 55-48, winning back-to-back road games.

It was Tamera Hooker leading the Pride with 18 points off the bench. She went 3-5 from long range and 5-6 from the free throw line. Azuria Barrino scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds, earning a double-double. 

After the first quarter, Greensboro dominated the Pacers. They outscored William Peace 19-4 in the second quarter, and 19-14 in the third. Greensboro had 30 points in the paint while the Pacers scored just 12. Despite playing with a short bench, the Pride had 26 bench points on the afternoon.

Tanaesha Ellison, one of the nations best guards this season, scored 24 points and had 18 rebounds. She scored 14 of her points from the free throw line. The Pacers turned the ball over 20 times in this one, and Greensboro scored 20 points off those turnovers. 

This Tuesday, the Pride host Brevard College inside Hanes Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
