Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Men's Basketball team (10-11, 6-4) fell to USA South rival William Peace (10-11, 5-5) on Saturday afternoon by the score of 65-50.
Matthew Brown led the Pride with 15 points.
It was a rough shooting afternoon for Greensboro, going just 6-23 from the floor in the first half. The team scored a season low 13 points in half number one, but played solid defense to stay in the game. The Pride made just 3 three pointers on the afternoon.
The Pacers would score 22 first half points, as both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket early on. The offenses opened up in the second half as William Peace hit 5 three point shots in the half in route to victory. They shot 68% from the floor in the second half compared to Greensboro shooting 48%.
The key man for the Pacers was Timothy Pettiford. Pettiford scored 22 points with 9 rebounds. William Peace's bench outscored the Pride's 17-7.Â
Greensboro sits 4th in the USA South Conference standings, but they are just one and a half games out of 1st place. The Pride will play inside Hanes Gymnasium again on Tuesday when they host Brevard College at 7:30 PM.
