Danville, VA - The Greensboro Baseball team (4-0) came from behind late to beat Averett (1-5) on the road Tuesday, 7-6. This is the first 4-0 start for the Pride since the 2017 season.
The Cougars scored the first three runs of the game to take a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Drake Carrick doubled home
Nick Marshall in the bottom of the first to put Greensboro on the board as they cut the lead to 3-1.
By the eighth inning, Averett held a 5-1 lead. The Pride offense would come alive in the top half of the eighth, as they scored four runs to tie the game 5-5.

Louis Berini,
Chris Le, and
Adam Weber drove in runs in the inning as the Pride had come all the way back from a 5-1 deficit.
The Cougars responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI single by Drew Skinner to re-take the lead. With Averett leading 6-5 in the top of the ninth inning, Carrick would drive in another run to tie the game 6-6 on an RBI single. The Pride then took the lead when
Myles Vacharasin bunted home a run on a squeeze play. This would turn out to be the game winning run.
Stephen Dunlow took the mound in the ninth and nailed the door shut on the Cougars.
Mo Lopez got the start for Greensboro and went four innings, giving up three runs.
Ronnie Brandon got the win out of the bullpen, getting the final out of the eighth inning.Â
Greensboro plays this Saturday at Ted Leonard Park as they host Mount Saint Mary College for a double header. Game one begins at 2:00 PM.
