Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Baseball team (2-0) took on Lycoming College (0-2) on Saturday in game two of a three game series. The Pride shutout Lycoming 9-0 behind a strong start from
Ian Bast, who threw 5.0 innings and struck out 4.
Drake Carrick helped lead the offense, coming through with 3 hits, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored.
Adam Weber would go 2-6 with 2 runs scored, while
Brody Gardner went 2-3 with 2 walks.
The Pride took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, and then in the fifth inning
Evan Sykes hit an RBI single that drove home Gardner. Then in the sixth, the Pride scored 5 runs to blow the game open.
Mo Lopez was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in a run, and soon after Carrick hit an RBI single.
Nick Marshall then scored on a wild pitch.
Chris Le got an RBI off another hit by pitch with the bases loaded, and Carrick later scored on a wild pitch.
Dylan Ward came in out of the bullpen and put out a potential threat from the Warriors in the sixth inning. He threw 2.0 innings while walking just 1 batter. The Greensboro pitching staff combined for 5 strikeouts on the day.
Game three of the series takes place at Ted Leonard Park on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
