Misenheimer, NC - In a key USA South Conference game to determine a potential bid into the conference tournament, the Greensboro Women's Basketball team (7-16, 7-9) defeated Pfeiffer University (6-16, 4-12), 73-53.
Samiah Mitchell scored a career high 23 points while
Tamera Hooker recorded a double-double.
The Pride got out to an early 20-14 lead after one quarter. They really created separation in the second quarter, as the Falcons scored just 4 points in the period. It wasn't much of a contest from the second quarter on, as Greensboro kept themselves well ahead the rest of the game.
The Pride hit 5 three pointers while shooting 57% from the floor.
Samiah Mitchell's 23 points came on 11-15 shooting, while also collecting 3 rebounds and 3 steals.

With the win, Greensboro sits 5th in the USA South Conference standings at 7-9 and are now locked into the USA South Conference Tournament. The Pride will travel to NC Wesleyan on February 14th, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM.
