Men's Basketball Comes Up Short Against LaGrange

LaGrange, GA - Greensboro men's basketball played in the first of two games in the LaGrange College Tournament on Saturday afternoon and fell to LaGrange 76-66. Greensboro was led by Griffin Powell who scored a career high 17 points, including shooting 5-7 from long range.

LaGrange got off to a hot start, scoring 43 first half points. The Panthers shot 50% from the floor in the first half and hit 5 three-pointers. Greensboro shot just 38% in the half and 3-11 from behind the arc.

Greensboro shot the ball much better in half number two, going 14-23 (60%) from the floor and went 6-8 from long range. Unfortunately for the Pride, the Panthers didn't cool off much in the second half. They again shot 50% from the field and hit 5 more three-point shots. Greensboro outscored LaGrange 38-33 in the second half, but it wouldn't be enough as the Panthers took the victory.

Powell, Grant Thompson, and Isaiah Pruett all scored in double figures for Greensboro. Thompson scored 14 points with 6 rebounds while Pruett scored 14 points with 7 assists. Ryan Roberts scored 5 points for the Pride while DJ Jackson had 3 steals and 5 assists.
