LaGrange, GA - Despite 21 points from senior point guard
Isaiah Pruett, Greensboro men's basketball dropped their second game of the LaGrange College Tournament on Sunday to Berry 75-56.
The Pride got off to a slow start offensively in the first half, and found themselves down 44-28 at the half. With just over 4 minutes to play in the half, Greensboro was only down 31-26. However, the Vikings went on a 13-2 run and took a 44-28 lead into the break.
The Pride couldn't get much going in the second half either, scoring 28 points again. The lead was cut to just 12 points with 8:28 to play in the second half, but Berry was able to thwart the comeback attempt and pulled away to a 20 point lead with 3:46 to play. The Vikings maintained a comfortable lead the rest of the way to finish off their 5th win of the season.
For Greensboro,
Isaiah Pruett led the team with his 21 points and had 5 rebounds. Pruett currently sits 5th in the USA South at 16.0 points per game.
Griffin Powell followed up his career high 17 point performance on Saturday with a 9 point, 3 assist game on Sunday.
Ryan Roberts had 11 rebounds on the day, the most in a game for him this season.
Grant Thompson scored 8 points while pulling down 8 rebounds.
The Pride will play an exhibition game at UNC Pembroke on December 21st, their final game before the end of the calendar year. Greensboro gets back into regular season action when they host Sewanee on January 2nd inside Hanes Gym.
