Pride Struggle Offensively in Road Loss to Randolph College

Lynchburg, VA - The Greensboro College women's basketball team faced Randolph College on Sunday in Lynchburg, Virginia, but struggled offensively as they fell 76-35 in a non-conference match-up. The loss marks the Pride's fourth consecutive defeat as they look to regain momentum early in the season.

Randolph set the tone early, outscoring the Pride 25-7 in the first quarter by capitalizing on turnovers and dominating in transition. Greensboro showed slight improvement in the second quarter, scoring 12 points, but the Wildcats continued to control the game with their aggressive defense and efficient offense. By halftime, Randolph led 41-19, leaving the Pride with a steep deficit to overcome in the second half.

Shooting woes continued to hinder Greensboro throughout the game. The Pride converted just 22.8% (13-of-57) of their shots from the field and struggled from beyond the arc, making only 1-of-13 three-point attempts. Despite the team's struggles, Meah Brooks emerged as a bright spot, leading Greensboro with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and adding 3 rebounds.

Randolph was led by Kylie Stark, who finished with 16 points to pace the Wildcats. Their balanced scoring attack and ability to force turnovers allowed Randolph to control the tempo and prevent Greensboro from gaining any momentum. The Wildcats' defensive pressure consistently disrupted the Pride's offensive flow, limiting their opportunities to close the gap.

Greensboro will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they travel to Raleigh to face William Peace University in their second USA South Conference game of the season. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
