Misenheimer, NC - The Greensboro College women's basketball team fell in its first road game of the season, losing 72-46 to USA South Conference rival Pfeiffer University on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Pride to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Freshman Meah Brooks was a standout for Greensboro, leading all scorers with 19 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. She was the only Pride player to reach double figures, as the team struggled offensively against a strong Pfeiffer defense.
Pfeiffer showcased a balanced offensive attack, with Alexis Bynum leading the way. Bynum recorded 18 points and 11 assists in an impressive performance. Ava Hariston chipped in 10 points, while Kenadie Hudler and Peyton McPeters each added 9 points for the Falcons.
Turnovers proved to be a deciding factor in the game, as Pfeiffer capitalized on Greensboro's miscues. The Falcons scored 26 points off 26 Pride turnovers, creating a gap that Greensboro could not overcome.
The Pride started the game strong, coming out aggressive in the first quarter and leading by as much as six points. However, Pfeiffer adjusted their defensive strategy, applying intense pressure that disrupted Greensboro's offensive rhythm. Once the Falcons took control, they never looked back.Â
Greensboro will look to bounce back in their next game at home on Tuesday, November 26th, against Christopher Newport. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
