Men's Wrestling Posts Strong Performance in First Dual Match of Season

Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro men's wrestling team took on St. Andrews University in their first home meet and first dual meet of the season on Tuesday. The Pride came out on top 47-3, with the only loss of the night in teh 157 pound class match-up.

Lorezno Kimber won the 125 pound class via forfeit before CJ Watson was victorious by technical fall (20-5) in the 133 pound match. Ivan Benitez wrestled in the 141 pound class and pinned Briant Witherspoon to get the victory.

Defending National Champion Josh Wilson took home a win in the 149 pound class, winning by technical fall 19-4. Ethan Kring then took down Preston Rhodes 15-4 in the 165 pound match-up, and later Taalib Greer II won the 174 pound match by forfeit.

In the 184 pound class, Luke Gregory put on a show and won 18-4, and later Isaiah Manning won by technical fall (19-4). Jacob Barlow would win the heavyweight match by forfeit. 

It was a big performance in front of a great crowd inside Reynolds Gym, as the Pride are now 1-0 on the season in dual meets.

Greensboro takes on UNC Chapel Hill at the Carolina Duals on Tuesday, November 26th. That match can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
