Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro women's basketball team hosted Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Sunday and won by the final score of 86-27.
Freshman
Meah Brooks led the Pride with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Brooks dominated all afternoon, as she also had 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocked shots. Her 12 made field goals ties her for 10th all-time in a single game for the women's basketball program.
Azuria Barrino also had a big night, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Barrino also had 4 steals. Senior point guard
Nataya Atwater pitched in with 14 points and 5 boards, while
Taya Phelps had 11 points.
Greensboro shot 47% from the field in this one, and went 10-16 from the free throw line. They had 22 second chance points and 16 fast break points. The Pride had 60 points in the paint and 36 points off turnovers. The team had a total of 20 steals defensively.
Next up for Greensboro is a battle with cross town rival Guilford at the First Horizon Coliseum on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
