Bridgewater, VA - The men's basketball team played in their first of two games in the Bridgewater Invitational on Saturday against Eastern Mennonite. This was the second game the two teams have played against each other this season. Despite a two point halftime lead, Greensboro struggled to score in the second half and fell 59-51.
It was a tale of two halves for the Pride, as they shot 12-31 from the floor and 6-13 from behind the arc in the first half. They also went 5-5 from the free throw line.

DJ Jackson started out hot as they hit multiple three pointers to help Greensboro go into the locker room at halftime ahead 35-33.
Eastern Mennonite shot the ball well in the first half also, going 11-26 from the floor and 6-14 from long range. However for Greensboro, the strong shooting in the first half didn't translate into half number two.Â
The team shot 9-25 from the floor and just 1-9 from behind the arc, scoring just 16 second half points. The game remained close throughout the half, as the score was 51-51 with 6:19 to play. From there though, Greensboro couldn't score again the rest of the way, and Eastern Mennonite went on an 8-0 run to win the game.
Griffin Powell led Greensboro with 14 points, going 4-10 from long range.
Zephaniah Jones scored a career high 11 points and had 3 rebounds.
Isaiah Pruett had 10 points and 9 rebounds, falling one rebound short of a double-double.
Greensboro will play Bridgewater College on Sunday, with a tip-off time set for 3:00 pm.
