Rocky Mount, NC - The Greensboro volleyball team won their fifth straight match on Saturday afternoon as they defeated NC Wesleyan 3-0. The win puts the Pride at 5-2 in USA South Conference play, just one game behind first place Methodist.
Greensboro controlled the match the entire way, as the Pride cruised to a 25-12 win in the first set. They then took the second set by the score of 25-20, followed by a 25-19 win in set three.
Kelci Brooks led the Pride in kills with 14. Brooks leads the team this season with 154 total kills.
Krista Brantley added 7 kills, as did
Payton Wright.Â
Defensively,
Morgan Mayfield led Greensboro in digs with 16.
Grace Young had 14 digs on the afternoon, while Brooks had 11.
Jaylyn Templeton had 22 assists.Â
The Pride will host Pfeiffer in their next match on Wednesday, October 9th, followed by a battle with first place Methodist on Saturday, October 12th.Â
