Greensboro, NC - Greensboro volleyball took on Salem College for their second meeting of the season on Thursday night and fell 3-0.
The Pride got off to a solid start in the first set, leading 18-16 and again 21-20. Salem would go on a 3-0 run to take a 23-21 advantage in the set and later close the set out with a 25-22 win.
From there, the Spirits took control of the match, winning set two 25-15 and set three 25-16. Salem had 46 kills on the night compared to Greensboro's 36, and Salem's Aspen Bradley led all players with 14 kills.
For the Pride,
Payton Wright had 11 kills while
Morgan Mayfield came up with 19 digs.
Grace Young had 2 service aces and
Jaylyn Templeton finished with 31 assists.
Greensboro will play a tri-match this Saturday at Mary Baldwin, as they play William Peace at 1:00 pm followed by a match with the Fighting Squirrels at 3:00 pm.
