Brevard, NC – On a rainy, windy and cold Saturday afternoon, the Greensboro College Men's Lacrosse team hit the road for a crucial USA South match-up with Brevard College. It would be a physical game, but the Pride outshot the Tornados, 54-37, to come away with the win, 12-7.

Austin Abourjilie (Greensboro, NC) put Greensboro on the board first as he fired a shot past the goalie and a few minutes later Junior
William Beyer (Greensboro, NC) found Senior
Ryan Buchanan (Havelock, NC) for the Pride's second goal of the game. With 2:48 remaining in the first quarter, Sophomore
William Phinizy (Graham, WA) found the net and then would score again, 40 seconds later, to increase the lead to 4-0. Brevard would get one back to start the second quarter and eventually pulled to within two goals, but Senior
Dominic Scali (Randolph, NJ) and Sophomore
Leo Ringelberg (Waxhaw, NC) were able to put the Pride back up by four goals to go into halftime leading 6-2.
Ringelberg began the third quarter with a goal, but the Tornados answered with two scores of their own to make it a three-goal game. The Greensboro advantage would go back to four goals when Abourjilie found the back of the net again, which was followed by a goal from Scali to end the quarter, 9-4. The Tornadoes were able to, once again, pull to within three after scoring back-to-back goals, but Scali, Abourjilie and Phinizy would score their third goals of the game to secure the win, 12-7.
The Pride were led by Scali, Abourjilie and Phinizy who each scored three goals, while Beyer finished the game with four assists. Junior
Chase Henderson (Greensboro, NC) finished the game winning 16 of 18 face-offs and in goal Senior
Edward Rowley (Brockport, NY) saved 13 shots.
Greensboro will return to action on Wednesday, April 12
th as they travel to Fayetteville, NC to face Methodist University. Face-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
