High Point, NC – The Greensboro College Baseball team delivered 15 hits, while Sophomore
Moses Lopez (Fort Lauderdale, FL) drove in four runs and Freshman
Michael Richards and Sophomore
Nicholas Stegura (Land O' Lakes, FL) combined for five strikes, while only giving up four runs, to lead the Pride to a Friday afternoon USA South Conference victory over William Peace, 10-4.
The Pacers jumped put to a quick lead in the first two innings, 3-0, but Greensboro would get one back when Sophomore
Cam Watts (Kernersville, NC) hit an RBI single to left field, scoring Junior
Drake Carrick (Lexington, NC) in the bottom of the second inning. After another run from William Peace, the Pride started to find their rhythm when Freshman
Evan Sykes (Graham, NC) was hit by a pitch allowing Sophomore
Samuel Hayen (Fort Lauderdale, FL) to cross the plate. That was followed by a two RBI single from Lopez to tie the game and then eventually Sykes would score to give Greensboro their first lead of the game, 5-4. Lopez added two more RBI's in the fifth inning to extend the Pride's advantage and then Sykes and Senior
Connor Morehouse (Kansa City, MO) combined for three more RBI's to seal the win over the Pacers, 10-4.
Greensboro was led by Sykes, who finished the game 3-3 with two RBI's and two runs, while Lopez was 2-4 with Four RBI's. In addition Richards picked up the win and Stegura came on for the save.
The Pride will be back in action tomorrow to finish the series as they two teams play a doubleheader aat Truist Point Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00pm.
