Greensboro, NC - In a hard-fought battle on Tuesday evening, the Greensboro College Pride Men's Soccer team faced a tough challenge against Southern Virginia University.
The Pride came out the gate on fire with Axel Garcia-Avila scoring in the first 2 minutes of the match. SVU would later respond tying the game at 1-1 to close the first half. However, in the second half, SVU would score twice late to seal the victory.Â
. Head Coach Manbi Nyepon praised his team's efforts, saying, "Despite the loss, we hung tough with one of the conferences top teams. Our players left it all on the field tonight. We faced a strong opponent, and while the outcome wasn't what we hoped for, we'll take this as a learning experience and continue to improve."
The Pride will now turn their attention toward their next opponent in conference play as they prepare to face off against William Peace University. The upcoming match, scheduled for October 7th at 7:00 PM.
